According to Fox News website, Dr. Manny Alvarez, Fox News Channel’s senior managing health editor, discusses the connection between the human papillomavirus (HPV) and oral cancer, stating that “there are over 200 strains of the human papillomavirus out there,” and some strains may result in cancer. Dr. Alvarez wants people to know the signs and symptoms of oral cancer, which may include a sore that doesn’t go away, pain when swallowing and discoloration in the mouth, among others.
