In An Uncertain World…

Recently some of our patients have asked what Hillside Dental is doing to keep everyone safe.  We have always had the highest disinfection and sterilization protocols and now we are doing so much more.  We are following the American Dental Association(ADA), CDC, and OSHA  recommendations to keep you safe.  Our doctors are also keeping up to date on the constantly changing environment.

Our office may not look the same….at our entry we have hand sanitizer for you to use.  When you check in at the front desk you will be asked to review a few screening questions, these are the same ones that we asked you a few days before the appointment.  We will also take your temperature using an infrared thermometer.  Our facilitators are behind Plexiglas barriers and we have eliminated any extra paperwork for your appointment.

We remain on a limited hygiene schedule to keep everyone as safe as possible. It has been unfortunate that we are not able to see everyone that we have scheduled 6 months ago.   The facilitators are working hard to find a place for each patient that has been displaced either by our abbreviated schedule or our 2 ½ month shutdown.

We are practicing social distancing in our office and our reception area has been reconfigured to allow adequate social distancing.  Our staff; clinical and non-clinical, are wearing masks in all of the public areas of Hillside Dental.  We are also asking that our patients wear a mask while in our office.

Once in the dental chair, a plastic barrier will be put on you, similar to a cape at the beauty salon.   Our clinical staff are wearing gowns, face masks, and face shields.  Your hygiene appointment will also feel somewhat different.  We have instituted high speed suction to reduce the amount of airborne aerosol in the operatories.  Hillside Dental has also installed HEPA air purifiers in the hygiene operatories.

Much of the personal protective equipment (PPE) that we use has been in extremely short supply.  We are slowly receiving orders that were placed months ago.  If you have any questions or concerns please don’t hesitate to call our office.  Hillside Dental remains committed to provide you, the patient, with the best care possible as we all navigate through these uncertain times.
